Sister Cecylia Roszak believed to be the oldest nun is died. She was aged of 110.
Roszak was born on March 25, 1908 and joined the convent at the age of 21.
A few years later, in her 30s, she set up a new convent near Vilnius during the German occupation of Poland during World War II, which became a shelter for the Jews who escaped the ghetto.
In 2009, Roszak and other nuns from her convent were recognised as Righteous Among the Nations by Israel’s Yad Vashem Holocaust remembrance institute for saving several Jews.

Sis Roszak has also been described as a modest and merciful nun.
At her funeral on Thursday, nuns and other members of the Catholic Church gathered in Krakow to bid her farewell.
Sister Stanislawa Chruscicka, the mother superior of her convent in a phone interview with The Associated Press recalled that Sister Cecylia often said “life is very beautiful but too short.”
The funeral Mass was held at the Dominican nuns’ church in Krakow while her body was interred at the historic Rakowicki cemetery.
