The Super Eagles of Nigeria have played a goalless draw with Zimbabwe in an International friendly match as a build-up to the 2019 African Cup of Nations.
The match played under a heavy downpour at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba, Delta State, on Saturday, was witnessed by a large crowd of supporters who sang and danced to motivate the team.
Villarreal youngster, Samuel Chukwueze, one of the team’s most exciting prospects, put in an eye-catching shift on the right flank for the team before he was substituted while Bourdeaux FC’s Samuel Kalu was also a constant threat from the left wing, according to 1st News.
The game marked the return of former Chelsea stalwart, John Mikel Obi to the Super Eagles of Nigeria, with the experienced star displaying his usual cool composure at the base of the team’s midfield.
The Eagles are expected to take on the Teranga Lions of Senegal in another friendly in Egypt ahead of the AFCON.
