The Federal Government has announced that the civil service will become fully paperless by December 2025.
Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Didi Walson-Jack, made the announcement at a news conference to commemorate the 2025 African Public Service Day and Civil Service Week in Abuja yesterday.
Walson-Jack said the move was in line with the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan 2021–2025, which is programmed to end this year.
She also restated the Federal Government’s commitment to building a world-class public service.
The Civil Service boss explained that digitalisation is a major pillar of the reform plan and that the government was committed to accelerating its implementation across all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).
According to her, the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation has already achieved a paperless operation and is working to support all MDAs to reach the same milestone.
