53 years old Danish, Peter Nielsen, who allegedly murdered his Nigerian wife and singer, Zainab, popularly known as Alizee, and daughter, Petra, has been remanded in prison custody.
He was sent to Ikoyi Prison on the order of a Yaba Magistrate Court on Wednesday when he was arraigned over the death of Alizee and Petra.
Nielsen is being tried on a two-count charge bordering on murder.
The Magistrate, Mrs. K.B. Ayeye, said Nielsen should be remanded in prison pending the advice from the State Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
During the arraignment, the prosecutor, CSP Effiong Asuquo, told the court that Nielsen murdered Alizee and Petra at their residence in Banana Island, Ikoyi, Lagos.
“The accused who was always at loggerheads with his wife had hit her head on the wall several times leading to her death; he also proceeded to poison his daughter.

“He had dragged their lifeless bodies under the gas to create the impression that they suffocated to death as a result of a gas leakage,” Asuquo said.
The prosecutor accused Nielsen of violating Sections 223 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015 which prescribes death sentence for offenders.
Nielson however pleaded not guilty to the charge against him.
The case was adjourned till May 8 pending DPP’s advice.
