The All Progressives Congress, APC, has lost two members of the House of Representatives whose resignation letters were read on the floor of the house on Wednesday.

Babatubde Kolawale, representing Akoko North East/West Federal Constituency in Ondo, announced that he was defecting to the defecting to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, while, Mukaila Kazzim, representing Abeokuta North/Obafemi-Owode/ Odeda Federal Constituency of Ogun, did not state the party he was defecting to.

The lawmakers announced their resignations in two separate letters to the green chambers, read on the floor of the house on Wednesday by the Speaker, Yakubu Dogara.

Both lawmakers in their letters cited irreconcilable differences following the party primaries as part of the reasons for their leaving the ruling party.

Kazzim specifically complained that “god-fatherism” played a major role in the emergence of party representatives in the 2019 elections, describing that as undemocratic and against relevant sections of the Constitution.
