The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet), has predicted sunny and hazy weather conditions over the central states of the country on Thursday morning with partly cloudy conditions during the afternoon and evening hours.
NiMet’s Weather Outlook by its Central Forecast Office (CFO), on Wednesday in Abuja, also predicted prospects of localised thunderstorms over Jos, Lokoja, Abuja and Southern Kaduna later in the day.
It added that Makurdi, Mambilla plateau, Lokoja and its environ were likely to experience Isolated thunderstorms with day and night temperatures of 28 to 36 and 13 to 24 degrees Celsius respectively.
The agency predicted that southeastern states would experience partly cloudy morning with chances of localised thunderstorms over Obudu, Ogoja, Ikom, Abakaliki, Enugu, Awka, Owerri, Umuahia, Asaba, Warri and its environ during the afternoon and evening hour.

It also predicted partly cloudy morning over the southwestern states with chances of localised thunderstorms over Benin, Akure, Ado-ekiti, Oshogbo, Ibadan, Abeokuta, Ijebu-ode and Ikeja in the afternoon and evening.
NiMet futher predicted isolated thunderstorms over Calabar and Eket with cloudy morning and localised thunderstorms over Yenegoa, Port Harcourt, Uyo, Eket and Calabar during the afternoon and evening hours.
The entire southern region would have day and night temperatures of 32 to 34 and 20 to 24 degrees Celsius respectively.
According to NiMet, northern states will experience sunny and hazy conditions during the forecast period with day and night temperatures in the range of 33 to 38 and 16 to 26 degrees Celsius respectively.
“Sunny and Hazy conditions are expected over the northern cities while localised thunderstorms are likely over some part of the Southern cities within the next 24 hours.
“Dust haze conditions are anticipated over the northern cities within the next 48 to 72 hours,” NiMet predicted.
