Police Rescue 13-Year-Old-Girl From Kidnappers, Arrest Two Suspects

The Benue State Police Command has rescued a 13-year-old girl from the kidnappers’ den and arrested two suspects during the operation.

The Next Edition gathered that the victim, Mngusuur Iorlian, was kidnapped Sunday night during the Easter celebration by suspected hoodlums terrorising Kwande communities.

Iorlian was said to have been abducted at about 12pm in her father’s residence, located opposite NKST Church, Akpera in Adikpo, Kwande Local government area of Benue State.

A source who doesn’t want to be named, said men of “Operation Zenda” a police unit, following intelligence raided the hideout where she was kept in a forest and rescued her.

The team also arrested one of the suspects, Vershima Sunday of Mbawer community, Nanev in Kwande Local govt area of the state.

The  source said four other members of the kidnap syndicate  fled with bullet wounds.

The police also seized one motorcycle suspected to have been used by the hoodlums.

The police also arrested one Grace Yaaor, for concealing the arrest of the suspected kidnapper.

The source said the rescued victim has reunited with her parents, Mr. Iorlian Hetsege, who expressed appreciation to the police for rescuing her daughter.

When contacted, the Command Police Public Relations Officer, (PPRO), DSP Catherine Anene, confirmed the incidence.

Anene said the police is on top the matter and in trail of the fleeing hoodlums.

She assured that the long arm of the law will catch up with them.
