Delta Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, on Friday said that unless was collectively and roundly tackled, good investments may continue to elude Nigeria.
He also said that with security challenges still persisting, unemployment would not be properly controlled.
The governor stated this while receiving the Prelate of Eternal Sacred Order of Cherubim and Seraphim, Baba Aladura David Bob-Manuel, who visited him in Asaba.
According to him, without tackling insecurity, investors will not come to the country and this will not give room for job opportunities.
“As a nation, we need prayers particularly at this time where we are facing a lot of challenges especially insecurity.
“As a people, we need to call on God to help us tackle these challenges because once there is insecurity in the land, it becomes very challenging to attract investors, and if investors are not coming the possibilities of providing jobs for our children become low.

“Our population continues to grow at the rate at which it is affecting our resources and it is our prayer that God will continue to intervene so that we can manage the security situation to the benefit of our nation.
“If there is peace, as a government, we can plan better and with peaceful environments we can expect investments and there will be job opportunities,’’ he said.
The governor thanked the Primate and other religious leaders for their interests in the affairs of Delta, disclosing that God had helped the state in many ways.
He said that his administration’s programmes were all targeted at the well-being of citizens, disclosing that the government was providing free medical care for pregnant women and children who were aged zero to five years.
“We are doing a whole lot of empowerment programmes for our people and we are also engaging in education reforms where we are laying more emphasis on the future of our children,” the governor added.
Earlier, the Prelate had commended Okowa’s administration for its developmental strides, and said that he and his team were in Asaba for pastoral assignment.
