In a statement issued by his Special Adviser, Kunle Oyewumi, Kalu said Ogbuagu’s departure came at a time when the country needed him most.

The statement reads: “The demise of Chief Bob Ogbuagu is a big blow to Africa. He was an erudite scholar, a social crusader and a talented public relations expert, who committed his intellectual resources to the propagation and advancement of the cause of a just and fair society.

“His exceptional works made him renowned beyond the shores of Nigeria. The late Chief Ogbuagu died at a time the country needed his counsel on national issues.

“However, we take solace in the fact that he left indelible footprints in the annals of Nigeria. His legacies will remain evergreen and celebrated.”

Kalu expressed his condolence to the government and people of Abia State especially Alaike autonomous community in Ohuhu Clan of Umuahia North Local Government Area.

In its tribute signed by Senior Assistant Registrar, NIPR, Stella Sawyer, NIPR said Ogbuagu was a “quintessential public relations expert.”
