Senator Isa Misau has pointed out that the focus of his attack in the ongoing controversy is the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, and not Aisha, wife of President Muhammadu Buhari.
Misau, while appearing before an ad-hoc committee set up by the Senate to probe alleged cases of corruption against the Inspector General of Polices, Ibrahim idris, said Mrs. Buhari upon request, was given two Sports Utility Vehicles by the police boss.
Mrs. Buhari has since denied the allegation in a tweet.
The police had also denied the allegation in a statement issued by its Public Relations Officer, Jimoh Moshood.
The Police said the vehicles in question were only allocated to the security personnel of Mrs. Buhari and not for her personal use.
The police authority said Misau’s claim was a bid to drag Mrs. Buhari into the ongoing controversy.

Also taking to the tweeter, Senator Misau said his object of attack was Idris and not Mrs. Buhari.
His tweet: “For the avoidance of doubt, I did not make any allegations against the person of the highly revered Wife of the President @aishambuhari.”
He went further: “IGP Idris LEAKED correspondence w/ @MBuhari, COS, Dir. NIPSS, ADC @aishambuhari & CPSO @MBuhari to d public in docs filed at FCT H/Court.
“Shocked to find docs & minutes of @MBuhari & top govt officials carelessly paraded in public by IGP in clear BREACH of Official Secrecy.
“I query d motive behind such indiscretion given that said docs have little or no bearing on d matter of malpractice @PoliceNG. Suspicious!
“Again, I make it abundantly clear: IGP Idris submitted official docs mentioning names of respected personalities. NOT ME.”
