Mi-Yetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, MACBAN, has condemned the killing of Mrs. Funke Olakunrin, daughter of the leader of Pan-Yoruba group, Afenifere, Pa Reuben Fasoranti.

The association also distanced itself from the dastardly act, even as it condemned the attempt by some section of the media to pin the crime on herdsmen.
Recall that Mrs. Olakunri was shot on Friday at Ore by unknown gunmen.

The Ondo Police Command however said the bandits were robbers.

In a statement issued by the National Secretary of the association on Saturday in Abuja, Mr. Baba Ngelzarma, the cattle breeders condoled with Pa Fasoranti on the death of his daughter.

Mi-Yetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, MACBAN expressed its “sincere heartfelt condolence to the family of the deceased” even as it also expressed shock over “media collaboration with elements in the country using the opportunity to fuel crisis in Nigeria.”

Ngelzarma, lamented the continued negative profiling of Fulanis by some elements for their total annihilation such as the mischievous conclusion that Olakunri was killed by herdsmen.

“We strongly condemn this very unprofessional, unpatriotic and callous news reportage patterns that have been employed and deployed against our people by the section of the media.

“We are calling on security agencies to swing into action and unravel the perpetrators to bring them to justice in the shortest possible time,’’ the scribe said.
