Content Creator and Comedienne, Gloria Oloruntobi aka Maraji is in hot soup over her comments about religion.

The 22-year old shared an image on her instastories that said, “There is only one way to heaven. No Allah, No Buddha, No Krishna, No Evolution, Only Jesus”

She further went on to post a screen shot of her defending her stance to a user who asked her if she didn’t think Muslims would be offended.

This she shared with the caption, “Not trying to offend anyone, but the truth is offensive.”

Her comment elicited mixed reactions on Twitter.

While some Twitter users believe her comments were not appropriate on social media, some say her timing was wrong considering the Muslims are observing Eid.

Below are some of the reactions:

@JajaPhD

“Maraji shared her Christian beliefs. Don’t y’all use your religions to be homophobic? This is where you draw the line? Lmaooo!
Christianity teaches that only Jesus is the true way to God. If you have issues with it, now you know what religious chauvinism feels like.”

@chuks_anaba

“I only have one question when these religion thingy comes up.
Like Maraji is trending now.
What if you were born a Muslim or before Christianity.
What’s the chance/probability you’d be a Christian today.
Las Las, God’s way is not Man’s way.
Let’s just do good & fingers crossed.”

@534DahKeed

“Maraji said the right thing but just at the wrong time ⌚”

@Wareparmorsammy

“These are undisputable,undeniable credible facts #maraji mentioned.
HARD FACTS!!!”

@__perez94

“Maraji is a terrible human. She had to pick the biggest day in the Muslim calendar to post that. Do you know that could incite crimes & genocide against humanity? especially in Nigeria where there’s Christian-Muslim strife. 50 people killed themselves in Kaduna not too long ago.”

@thepamilerin

“The only fault I see in the Maraji post is tagging other religion. Aside that, please allow her preach the gospel the way she want to.”

@ehtega_

“Maraji is cancelled”
Sorry o, Red biro

@Boboye_Ak

“I’ve relocated several times and attended many churches & Christian schools. They all say Muslims worship false gods.
I’ve also read Muslim literature just for the fun of it. They also say Christians worship false gods.
Let’s stop pretending to be shocked at what Maraji said.”

@OlumideOG

“I hope Maraji knows this shit could hurt her business. She has Muslim followers, and some Muslim owned brands might stop working with her. Some opinions are best kept unsaid, and the fact that she chose Eid-El-Kabir of all days, very offensive, insensitive, and uncalled for.”

@ObongRoviel

“Your Pastor: Jesus is the only way
You: ride on sir
Maraji: Jesus is the only way
You: Why will a public figure say such only, it’s so insensitive
Local Devil is shocked !!!!
The most Annoying part of this is that the Muslims aren’t even Angry with Maraji, they are busy with their meat
But Sunday school dropouts are carrying the matter on their head like illaya ?‍♂️”

@RealDreylo

“Yes Maraji is a devoted Christian but the only problem was her being too vocal about her opinion on Muslims. This is the kind of thing you say behind closed doors not on Social Media. Coming online to debunk other religions is unnecessary and dangerous. Let’s be honest.”

@urchelixir

“What is a public holiday without twitter drama. Big shout out to Maraji for giving folks here something to rant about. I expect someone else to volunteer next!”

@SpySakYT

“Maraji can air her views all she wants. But as a human living in a world with multiple religions, no one has the right to generalize his/her beliefs or imply that theirs are better than others.”
@dadeen__

“I don’t know if this is what Maraji learnt in the bible.. But me being a Muslim, I believe in #Allah as the only God and Jesus remains nothing but the messenger of my God (Allah)… Everyone is free to practice what he wants, arguments may lead to dispute ??”
