Nigeria will soon take delivery of COVID Organics (COV), the herbal drug from Republic of Madagascar which the country claims prevents and cures the Coronavirus disease.
Nigeria’s consignment, which has been sent to Equatorial Guinea, according to reports, would be airlifted to Abuja from there.
For ease of transportation, African countries were divided into zones hence the freighting of Nigeria’s consignment to Equatorial Guinea.

The drug comes to Nigeria even as the World Health Organization (WHO), has insisted that its efficacy has not been proven yet.
Meanwhile, there is pressure on the Federal Government by different medical and scientific organisations to allow the National Institute for Pharmaceutical Research and Development (NIPRD) and the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) to carry out further analysis on the drug.
Also, there are those pushing for clinical trial of drug before its use in the country.
The Federal Government has not taken a position yet because the AU has mandated the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC) to review the scientific data gathered so far on the safety and efficacy of the COVID Organics.
