An Abuja Division of the Appeal Court on Friday ordered the appearance of former National Security Adviser to President Goodluck Jonathan, Sambo Dasuki, in the trial of former National Publicity Secretary of Peoples Democratic Party, Olisa Metuh.
Metu is standing trial for alleged financial mismanagement involving N400 million from the $2.1 billion earmarked to buy arms in the fight against Boko Haram under the government of former President Goodluck Jonathan.
In the trial, a Federal High Court had refused to grant Metu’s request that Dasuki should appear before it as a witness.
Metu’s request was based on the claim that the money was released from Dasuki’s office.
Setting aside the decision of the Federal High Court which refused to grant the Metuh ’s request, the Appeal Court said Okon Abang of the Federal High Court was wrong to have regarded Dasuki as a “non-compellable” witness in the case.
The Appeal Court directed the Department of State Services (DSS) to make Dasuki available at the next date the case would come up.
