The Executive Director of Civil Society Legislative Advocacy Centre (CISLAC), Auwal Ibrahim Musa Rafsanjani, on Saturday said the in-fighting between the legislative and executive has stalled development in the country.
He also said that lack of trust, suspicion among others vices in the political circle had further deprived the citizens of viable governance.
Rafsanjani said, “we can see clearly the implication of the political crisis in Nigeria. Governance issues have been abandoned. Nigerians, invariably are the ones suffering from these arrogance, unpatriotic and irresponsible in-fighting.

“This fight has no place in deepening democracy and development in Nigeria. Consequently, development has been abandoned, governance issues have been abandoned and now, people position themselves on how to continue to amass public funds and this is the reason why they insisted on remaining in leadership positions.
“It is not for the good of anybody, but it is to use that as an evidence to continue to amass or siphon public funds.”
The CISLAC boss questioned the rationale for the fight and where it had led the country to, adding that while the legislature was busy intimidating agencies during their oversight, the executive had abandoned governance to chase the removal of the National Assembly leadership.
