The Police Officers’ Wives Association (POWA), Kaduna State chapter, on Thursday supported 100 widows and other indigent women for the Eid el-Kabir celebrations.
The Chairperson of the association, Hajiya Surayya Rabiu, emphasised the importance of compassion and solidarity, particularly during Sallah and other festivities.
Rabiu said the initiative underscored POWA’s continued commitment to community welfare and supporting the families of fallen officers, especially during festive periods.
She said the food distribution was expected to bring joy and relief to the beneficiaries, highlighting the importance of community support and solidarity.
She added that the initiative also reflected the values of compassion and kindness that were central to the Eid el-Kabir celebrations.
Rabiu said POWA had consistently demonstrated its commitment to community welfare through various initiatives.
“This gesture is a testament to the organization’s dedication to supporting those in need, ” she said.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that event was held at the Police Officers Mess and essential food items including rice and spaghetti, were distributed to the beneficiaries.(NAN)
