The Iyanru chieftaincy family of Ojokoro in Lagos State has called on members of the public not to be lured to purchase any part of its 27 acres of land situated at Awori bus-stop area of Abule-Egba area of the state.
A principal member of the family, Mr. Kehinde Babalola, who spoke to newsmen, stated that anyone entering into any arrangement or purchase deal with any land speculator or chief, should desist from doing so as such a one would be doing so at their own risks.
Babalola, while appealing to members of the public, to stay away from the land, advised those parading themselves as family members to desist from doing so.
He further stated that the former governors in Lagos State, Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN), and Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, were fully aware of the issues concerning the land in question and that anyone who needed further clarification should contact the family.
Tracing the history of the land, Babalola added: “The Taylor family was our hired tenant. We leased a portion of the land to them and if anyone needs further clarifications, he could contact the family.

“The Iyanru family of Ota and Ojugbele Adeitan, a farmer and hunter who migrated from Ile-Ife 300 years ago, owned the parcel of land.
“Adeitan had eight children, who survived him after his death, namely, Oni, Akanbi Ogun, Ajayi Efe, Olamikan, Dada Ejo, Ajiborisa, Oja Ekun and Ige-Ugun Oniye.
“After Adeitan’s death, his children unanimously partitioned his land into eight equal parts, while part of the land in question fell to Ige Egun Oniye in Ojokoro, Lagos State.
“After the death of Ige Egun Oniye, Suberu took over his father’s property, while Iyalode Efunsetan Aniwura stood surety for them.”
