The Lagos State Government has extended the business hours for markets in the state.
A statement by the state’s Commissioner for Local Government and Community Affairs, Dr Wale Ahmed, on Sunday, said henceforth, markets will open at 8am and close at 6pm.

The decision by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, according to the statement is to further enhance trade and commerce as well as mitigate hardship of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Ahmed, however, stressed that the alternate days of operations will remain in force. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays remain days of operation for non-food market while food markets will continue to operate o. Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
He urged all traders to adhere strictly to the COVID-19 protocols for their safety and the citizenry at large.
