The Commissioner of Police Kaduna State Command, Mr. Ali Janga has ordered immediate investigation into the death of a bus driver reportedly shot along Kaduna-Abuja expressway by a policeman on Friday.

The Command Public Relation Officer, DSP Yakubu Sabo, made this known in a statement issued on Friday in Kaduna.

While condoling with the family of the deceased, he assured them and members of the public that the Command would ensure that justice was done on the matter.

Janga called for calm, pleadeding with the Drivers Unions not to take the law into their hands by causing further road blockade as such measure would only inflict more pain on the public.

Angry drivers had locked down the busy Kaduna-Abuja Expressway for six hours on Friday following the shooting of one of them.

The bus driver was said to have been on his way to Abuja from Katsina when a policeman allegedly shot him dead at about 5am while the motor boy was haggling with another policeman who demanded for a N1000 bribe.

The suspect was said to have run into the bush after the shooting while the other policeman quickly disappeared from the scene using a police vehicle.
