The much talked about15-man medical team from China has arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.

The team arrived in Nigeria in a chartered Air Peace aircraft on Wednesday afternoon.

They are expected to assist Nigeria in efforts to contain the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to official sources, they would not be directly in contact with people who have already contracted the disease. They would be assisting in the seven designated laboratories in testing samples to expand the coverage areas.

Prior to their arrival, Nigerians had been locked in a long unending debate on whether it was appropriate for the Federal Government to invite them considering the fact that the Coronavirus, which has become a pandemic originated from their country.
