Jigawa House of Assembly Speaker, Isah Idriz Gwaram, has been impeached.
His impeachment on Thursday was by 20 out of 30 members of the house of assembly.
He was immediately replaced by a former speaker of the house, Garba Kareka.
Gwaram’s impeachment is coming a few days after the ceremonial mace was destroyed over leadership tussle.

The house had been thrown into a rowdy session on Tuesday following a motion moved on the amendment of the standing rule of the state assembly.
A member representing Yankwashi constituency, Alkasim Karkarna, was said to have hit the mace resulting to its destruction.
