A traditional ruler in Gwer-West Local Government Area of Benue State, Ter Tyoshin II, Daniel Ayua Abomtse said suspected Fulani herdsmen have killed over 310 persons in his domain between 2011 and 2019.
Abomtse stated this while playing host to the State Working Committee of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Benue State Council in his palace at Naka.
He told the NUJ that while 310 persons have been killed within the period, about 13 others have been injured in 39 attacks from February 8, 2011 to April 2, 2019 in Gwer-West LGA of Benue State.
The traditional ruler said his subjects are still languishing in pains and tears and wondered why some people from elsewhere would come to his domain in the name of grazing only to kill, maim and occupy.

According to him , the continued attacks and ravaging of Benue Communities by the herders calls for concerted efforts by all to address the issue.
He challenged the new Exco of the Union to leave legacies behind for others to emulate noting that the Union needs a conducive environment to operate saying if Journalists fail in their duty, the whole world will collapse.
Earlier in her address, the State Chairman of NUJ, Victoria Asher, said they were in his palace to condole with him over the frequent attacks on his people by suspected Fulani herdsmen.
She prayed God to give the traditional ruler the wisdom of King Solomon to rule over his people and encouraged him not to relent in his efforts at resisting the invasion.
The NUJ Chairman assured the monarch that the Union will continue to partner with his palace in the area of publicity to attract attention to the plight of his people and urged him not to forget his root, the Journalism profession.
