The Federal Government has released ₦614. 92 billion for the payment of accrued pension for retirees under the Contributory Pension Scheme.

The National Pension Commission (PenCom) disclosed this in a release on Monday on its verified official tweeter handle.

The Accrued Pension Rights (APR) are employee’s benefits for the past years of service up to June 2004, when the Pension Reform Act (PRA) became law, the tweet said.

PenCom commended the federal government for its efforts at ensuring that the accrued arrears were cleared.
