According to him, the road would be opened by 9am to ease the flow of traffic on the highway, especially as the yuletide approaches.

Kuti, disclosed that construction work had been completed on that part of the road inbound Lagos, while government had decided to suspend construction work on the outbound lane.

He explained that continuing with construction work on the outbound lane would affect the movement of travellers during the festive period adding that government would not like to leave work halfway.

He said the contractors would return to the site in January and immediately commence construction work on the other side of the road.

The inward lane of the long Kara Bridge had been closed since September 2, 2019 for construction work, compounding the traffic gridlock which travellers and commuters on that axis usually had to deal with.
