Family Of 4 Perish In Kano Accident

Four members of the same family on Sunday lost their lives in a tragic accident that occurred in Gaida town on the outskirts of Kano city.

The accident involved a truck belonging to popular cement company and a motorbike.
One of the deceased identified as Muhammad Sagir, aged 40, was reportedly traveling on a motorbike with his wife and three children when the tragedy occurred.

The accident was confirmed by the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa who said that the police had commenced investigations.

According to him, five victims were evacuated from the accident scene to the Murtala Mohammad Specialists Hospital.

“The man, his wife, two children eventually died while one other person escaped unhurt,” he added.

Kiyawa further said the police had since launched a manhunt for the truck driver, who fled the scene soon after the accident.

Meanwhile, he said the truck had been moved to the Bompai headquarters of the command.
