Police Arrest Three Over Human Skull Exhumed From Cemetery

Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested three men in connection with a human skull exhumed from a public cemetery.

The suspects who were arrested separately were identified as Dauda Tijani, 42, Olawale Shodolamu, 70, and Seun Falana, 37.

Operatives attached to Area E Command had on March 1, while on a routine stop and search intercepted Tijani around Alakija with a black polythene bag containing a skull, who confessed that he was sent by one herbalist, Olawale Shodolamu, 70, to collect the skull from a cemetery attendant.

Following Tijani’s confession, the herbalist, Shodolamu, was arrested. He in turn claimed that he atbought the human skull from one Falana, a worker at Trinity Cemetery Ajegunle at N10,000, explaining that he usually ground the human skull with other substances to prepare herbs and charms for his customers.

Consequently, Falana himself was picked up by the police.

He confessed to digging out graves to remove human skulls to sell to herbalists.

Police authorities say investigation is still ongoing and that the suspects will soon be charged to court.
