Former Bayern Munich defender Jerome Boateng has joined Olympique Lyon on a two-year deal, the French Ligue 1 said on Wednesday.
The 2014 FIFA World Cup winner with Germany was out of contract in Munich in July and had bided his time before picking his next club.

Lyon, coached by former Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen manager Peter Bosz, conceded 43 goals last term and were looking for an experienced defender.
The 32-year-old Boateng won two UEFA Champions League honours, nine Bundesliga titles and five German Cups at Bayern Munich.(dpa/NAN)
