A former Chief Justice of Nigeria, Dahiru Musdapher, is dead.
He died at the age of 75.
The news of his death was broken in a Facebook post by his younger brother, Muneer Musdapher.
“My elder brother Justice Dahiru Musdapher former CJN passed on tonight,” he wrote without giving the cause of his death.
He was said to have died in a London hospital.
Musdapher succeeded Justice Aloysius Katsina-Alu as the Chief Justice of Nigeria.

His appointment was made by former President Goodluck Jonathan.
His tenure was brief as he retired barely a year having attained the retirement age of 70.
In 2012, he was succeeded by Justice Aloma Mariam Mukhtar.
Musdapher studied at the Ahmadu Bello University and the School for Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), London and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1968.
He was appointed the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice of Kaduna State in 1976.
He was later made the Chief Judge of the state after joining the bench in 1979.
He was also at the Appeal Court and later was appointed to the Supreme Court in 2003.
