Justice Theresa Igoche gave the order on Wednesday while ruling on an application to that effect.

The Chief Judge of the state was also restrained from receiving or acting on any process with the intention of impeaching Ortom based on the resolution of the sitting of the legislators on Monday.

The court in the same vein, upheld the subsisting order by the Chief Judge of the state, Justice Adam Onum, which prevented the former Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly, Terkimbi Ikyange, and other former principal officers from laying claim to their previous positions.

The court also ordered security agencies occupying the House of Assembly to vacate it.

It would be recalled that eight legislators, led by former Speaker sat on Monday and issued an impeachment notice to Governor Ortom.

The House of Assembly was heavily guarded during the sitting, giving an indication that there was a conspiracy by security operatives.
