There has been a fire outbreak at the local airport, Murtala Mohammed airport, MM1, Lagos.
An eye witness who told our correspondent that the fire started right outside the arrivals building said passengers have been evacuated from the building while the fire fighters are battling to put out the fire.
Andinouwem Attah, who arrived the airport from Uyo, said she saw the huge smoke when their plane was about to land and that when they got closer to the arrivals, the fire got bigger.

“We were waiting for baggage claim when we heard the siren of fire trucks and fire fighters ran into the arrivals to urgently evacuate us. I am not sure when it started, but our flight touched down at 1:55pm. The fire outbreak occurred right outside the arrivals, that is when you exit the arrivals going outside. Some people said it’s a filling station, some say it’s a fuel tanker,” Andinouwem said.
According to the eye witness, the fire fighters were already at full force to salvage the situation.
