BIRS Apprehends Seven For Illegal Tax Collection In Benue

Seven persons have been apprehended by the Benue State Internal Revenue (BIRS) Task Force on Illegal Tax Activity for mounting and operating illegal check points in the state.

According to the information officer, Mr. Terkura Ati, the culprits  were arrested during a routine check by the task foce.

They were arrested in Gboko, Kwande, Ushongo and Buruku Local Government Areas.

Mr. Ati explained that Mr. Adamu Toryue, Mr. Tordue Gwaza were arrested at Tyogbenda Msa, Ushongo Local Government Area while one Mr. Aondofa Agasha was arrested at Ugbema in Buruku Local Government Area.

Mr. Msughter Tyoshom was apprehended at the Secretariat in Adikpo, Kwande Local Government Area while Mr. Aondofa Chia,  Terungwa Tyogbidye and Terseer Amee were all arrested at Buruku junction, Yandev, Gboko LGA.

He said all the suspects have been handed over to the Police for prosecution.
