The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Benue State Chapter, has hailed the recent victory of the state governor, Samuel Ortom, at the Court of Appeal in Abuja.

Recall that the Appellate court on Thursday dismissed the appeal brought before it by candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, at the last Governoship election, Emmanuel Jime and his party for lack of merit.

Jime and his party, APC, went before the court challenging the judgement of the Benue Governorship Election Petition Tribunal which upheld the victory of Governor Ortom at the 2019 elections.

The court dismissed the case and awarded the sum of N150 000 as cost against the appellants.

The PDP, in a press statement signed by the State Publicity Secretary, Bemgba Iortyom, said the decision of the court was an affirmation of the decision which was taken by the people of Benue State at the 2019 polls handing a second term of office to Governor Ortom.

“In affirming this popular decision of the people the Appallate court has boosted citizens confidence in its integrity as truly a temple of justice.

“It is the faith of PDP that Governor Samuel Ortom will justify the confidence reposed in him by the second term given him by the people through delivery of good governance and enhanced life quality.”

The party urged Benue people to continue to support the governor in prayers and in other ways for the success of his administration and in the best interests of the state.
