A gubernatorial aspirant in Benue state on the platform of the All Progressive Congress, APC, Professor Terhemba Shija, has promised to boost agriculture in the state if given the opportunity to lead the state come 2023 elections.
Prof. Shija stated this while presenting his 2023 governorship manifesto during an interactive meeting with stakeholders in Makurdi.
The guber hopeful said equally important part of his agenda would be to ensure equitable distribution of the state wealth and proper care for the aged persons and people living with disabilities to bridge the gap between the rich and the poor.
According to him, the document named “The Rebuild Agenda”, encapsulates a vision of a new Benue State for the governorship election of 2023.

He noted that “Unlike most dreams, the Rebuild Agenda have clearly identified areas of comparative advantage of the State which is boosting agriculture and ensuring exploitation of solid minerals in the state using latest technology and best global practices.
Prof Shija also promised to promote and guarantee the rights and privileges of all the citizens irrespective of their sections, tribes, religion, gender or political orientation.
“We will take care of the poor, the disabled, the unemployed, the sick and the aged and strive to eradicate poverty and narrow the gap between the rich and the poor.
“We plan to modernize Benue State, build wider, paved roads, fly-overs, tunnel and housing estates, stock our hospitals with the latest equipment and drugs, provide good classrooms and instructional materials for our schools at all levels.
He assured the leader of the APC in the state, Senator George Akume and the State Chairman of the party, Austine Agada that the Benue Rebuild Agenda would help them accomplish their dreams of salvaging and rebuilding Benue
