Seven people on Tuesday died as a truck in which they were travelling plunged into a river at Kotonkarfe community on the Lokoja-Abuja highway.
Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps in Kogi, Mr Emmanuel Abe, who confirmed the incident said the truck plunged into Enyogi River, a tribute of River Niger around 5am.
He attributed the accident to over speeding.

According to Abe, 37 people were involved in the accident.
He said the other travellers sustained varying degrees of injury adding that both the injured and dead were taken to the Federal Medical Centre and the Kogi State Specialist Hospital in Lokoja.
