A Celestial Church of Christ and a police station at Narayi  area of Chikun local government area of Kaduna State were set on fire following the death of a boy.

The boy was said to be working with the pastor of the church.

Following the allegation that the pastor of the church, one Babatunde Shittu, was responsible for the death, some youth in the area set the church and the police station on fire.

While confirming the incident, the spokesman of the Kaduna State Police Command, Mukhtar Aliyu, said five persons had been arrested.

He explained that when the case was reported, the police advised the protesters not to talk go violent about it.

The police later rescued the pastor and kept him away in a police station when he was considered to be no longer safe.

However, the protesters went wild and burnt the church involved and a part of the police station.

The police had declared that a probe would be carried out on the case.
