The Super Falcons of Nigeria lost 0-1 to France in the on-going Women’s World Cup in France on Monday.

The loss was not taken lightly by Nigerian football fans who have gone to the social media to vent their frustrations.

To them, it was not actually the loss, but the circumstances surrounding it. They believed the Super Falcons had discharged their responsibilities well but were robbed of victory.

Nigerians also blamed Fédération Internationale de Football Association, FIFA, and accused them of racism in the way and manner the match was handled.

However some of them have also poured encomiums on the youngest goalkeeper of the tournament, Amaka Nnadozie, the Falcons goalkeeper for her superlative performance.

Here are their reactions on Twitter:

@EzrealAni

“I’m not even sure the total time spent playing actual football in this game was up to 40mins. They wasted more time colliding with themselves and rolling on the floor #NGAFRA.”

@IamDanky

“Nnadozie First of Her name.

Youngest Goalie with a clean sheet @ the World Cup.

Penalty Queen.

Green Falcon.

Defender of goals.

Goalkeeper queen.

We hail thee.”

@its_laolao

“Me I would not be biased on this match. If you Sabi play, you Sabi play. Nigeria was eventually gonna pop. The pressure from France was too much. Plus the calls by the referee were absolutely fair and correct. We did our best but our best was not enough to stand France. #NGAFRA”

@EmmaEmahana

“@officialEFCC hope you guys saw how France robbed Nigeria in the ongoing #FIFAWWC

Don’t worry Nigerians Yahoo Yahoo boys when they will start fight for super falcons oooh.”

@ICExx01 “#NGAFRA  not minding the outcome nd FIFA racism against African countries, we are proud of you ladies and are solidly behind you all.”

@CasidiCafadi

“

The only “Amaka” that didn’t disappoint

well done ChiAmaka Nnadozie..well done

#NGAFRA #NIGFRA”

@ChijiokeUchev

“Sadly, the Super Falcons were playing against the French team, the commentator and the referee. At a point, VAR and FIFA sided with their opponents. It’s a miracle that we only lost by one goal.”

@CHIMERAL“#NGAFRA

VAR video assisted racism

But that one aside, let’s appreciate this beautiful woman.”

@GarShehu  “Super Falcons deserve commendation for their performance against France. In soccer, refereeing can mean everything as we saw in today’s match.”

@iam_bussiepr @Dear @CAF_Online when is Africa going to pull out of @FIFAcom organised events. Our parents taught us to leave where we are not welcomed. Is it not clear Africans are not welcomed at world cups with biased judgement against us both in men and women competitions.”

@nujamcule “Truly, it is FIFA

F- Football

I- Isn’t

F- For

A- Africa

Daylight robbery.”

@anthonyromain10 “African teams should not participate in any FIFA WORLD CUP again.”

@thesemilore “LMAO FIFA wants to fight racism but they are the president of racism. Why not just give France the cup already pls FIFA??? #NGAFRA”

@MOmuttaha “Nigeria vs France was a daylight robbery for the Super falcons.”
