The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has released the timetable for the 2020 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
The was made public via a statement posted on WAEC’s verified Twitter handle on Tuesday.
The timetable released by WAEC shows that candidates would sit for Mathematics on the first day of exams on August 17 while they would take English Language papers on August 26.
In the statement signed by the Head of Public Affairs, WAEC, Demeans Ojijeogu, the examination body restated that the exams will commence on Monday, August 17 and end on Saturday, September 12.
The body noted that several versions of the examination timetable have been in circulation, and enjoined the general public to disregard them.
It also urged candidates to abide by the rules and regulations guiding the conduct of the examination, by shunning all acts of malpractice and obeying all COVID-19 protocols.
Some details of the timetable are as below:
Mathematics (Essay) – 9:30a.m and 12:00 noon; (Objective) 3:00p.m. to 4:30p.m – August 17.
English Language (Essay) – 9:30a.m. to 11:30a.m; (Objective) 11:30a.m. to 12:30p.m – August 26.
Biology (Practicals) 09:30a.m – August 31; Essay and Objective, from 09:30a.m – August 25.

Chemistry (Practicals) – August 7 and 18 from 09:30a.m; Essay and Objective – September 2 from 02:00p.m.
Physics (Practicals) – August 8 and 20 from 09:30a.m; Essay and Objective – August 28 from 09:30a.m.
Economics (Essay and Objective) – August 19 from 09:30a.m; Agricultural Science (Essay and Objective) -August 19 (same day as Economics) from 02:00p.m.
History (Essay and Objective) – August 20 from 02:00p.m.
