Enugu State Government has eased the curfew imposed on the state in the wake violence perpetrated by hoodlums who took over the peaceful #EndSARS protests in the state.
The government had originally slammed a 24-hour curfew in Enugu East, Enugu North and Enugu South Local Government Areas of the state.
However, a statement by the State’s Commissioner for Information, Mr. Chidi Aroh, on Saturday said the curfew had been adjusted to 13 hours.
The adjustment, according to Aroh, followed the hardship occasioned by the 24-hour curfew imposed in Enugu metropolis in the face of the violent protests.
He said: “The 24-hour curfew imposed in Enugu East, Enugu North and Enugu South Local Government Areas stands lifted with effect from 7a.m on Sunday, 25th October, 2020.

“In its place, a 13-hour curfew from 6p.m to 7a.m daily, is imposed in Enugu East, Enugu North and Enugu South Local Government Areas, with effect from 6p.m on Sunday, 25th October, 2020 until further notice.”
Aroh stated that the Commissioner of Police in the state and other Security Agencies had been directed to ensure full compliance.
However, he explained that those involved in delivery of essential services such as Healthcare Workers, staff of Water Corporation, Enugu Electricity Distribution Company, Fire service, Enugu State Emergency Management Agency and others were exempted from the curfew.
