The Management of Vanguard Newspapers has postponed the Economic Discourse and 2020 edition of its yearly personality awards.
This is in with efforts to curtail the spread of the coronavirus disease.
Both events had been scheduled to hold on Thursday, March 19 and Friday March 20, respectively.
A statement Signed by the General Manager/Editor-in-chief, Gbenga Adefaye, reads: “The Management of Vanguard Newspapers regrets to announce the postponement of the Economic Discourse earlier scheduled to hold Thursday and Personality of the Year Awards ceremony slated for Friday.

“We were constrained to postpone both events in observance of global health concern over the rampaging Corona virus pandemic, COVID 19, which is spreading to every part of the world, including our country .
“In observance of both federal and state governments’ instructions on how to curtail the virus and stop community infection, we had to postpone both events.”
The statement said new dates would be announced later.
