Delta State Chief Judge, Justice Marshall Umukoro has said that Urhobo Indigenes at Correctional Centers across the state are higher than other tribes and blamed the rate on ‘ I don’t care’ parents.

Justice Umukoro at a book lunch/presentation of the book titled’ The Great Ughele Kingdom authored by Olorogun Miller Uloho in Ughelli, Delta state, said that Urhobo alone constitute over 70 percent of the total number of inmates in the state’s Correctional Centers.

While describing the trend as embarrassing, Justice Umukoro urged Urhobo parents to give proper care and training to their wards to make them good ambassadors of the society.

He commended the author of the book for writing the book, which he noted would change for the better how people perceive the Ughelli Kingdom.

The author said that he was challenged to write the book in the face of so many misinformation and misconception about the Ughelli Kingdom and dedicated the book to the Traditional ruler of Ughelli Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Wilson Ojakovo, the Oharisi 111.

He disclosed that the true name of the Kingdom was Ughele and not Ughelli adding that the name was changed over a century ago by the British administration of Sir Lord Lugard who made Ughelli adminstrative center.
