Two students of Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi (FUAM), who were kidnapped last Saturday have been released, the school management has confirmed.
A press statement signed by the Director of Information, Protocol and Public Relations (IPPR), FUAM, Mrs Waku Rosemary, said the two students are Israel kwaghgee and Solomon Salifu.
The statement read, “The students of Federal University of Agriculture Makurdi (FUAM) that were kidnapped have been released. The two students Israel Kwaghgee and Solomon Salihu came back to campus yesterday (27/4/21).”
Recall that three students of University of Agriculture, Makurdi, were kidnapped from the school premises at about 10:20 pm last Saturday.
The police had confirmed three while The Next Edition gathered that about six students were taken after which the abductors freed one and one escaped.
Mrs Waku who spoke to journalists on phone said the returned students are receiving treatment in an undisclosed hospital.
The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Catherine Anene who also confirmed the release of the students said no ransom was paid.
