The gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and sitting governor of Taraba State, Darius Ishaku, has been returned as governor of the state.
The state returning officer Prof. Shehu Iya, declared the PDP candidate winner early Tuesday morning at the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, office in Jalingo.

According to him, the PDP candidate polled a total of 520,433 votes, while his closest rival, Sani Danladi, of the All Progressives Congress, APC, scored 362,735 votes.
He also announced that Ishaku won in 11 LGAs; Takum, Zing, Yorro, Kai, Bali, Donga, Wukari, Bali, Gashaka, Kurmi and Ussa LGAs, while Danladi won in four; Jalingo, Gassol, Ibbi and Karim Lami.
