Legendary Music star, Tina Turner, has died. She was aged 83.

Turner became popular through two of her soul classics and pop hits like ‘The Best’ and ‘What’s Love Got to Do With It.’

According to reports, Turner was weighed down by a number of health issues in recent years including cancer, a stroke and kidney failure.

She was said to have died at her house in Switzerland following a long illness.

“Tina Turner, the ‘Queen of Rock’n Roll’ has died peacefully today at the age of 83 after a long illness in her home in Küsnacht near Zurich, Switzerland. With her, the world loses a music legend and a role model,” Sky News said in a report.

Her death was announced on her official Instagram page, according to BBC.

“With her music and her boundless passion for life, she enchanted millions of fans around the world and inspired the stars of tomorrow,” the post said.

“Today we say goodbye to a dear friend who leaves us all her greatest work: her music.”

However, the specific cause of death has not yet been made known.

Turner was one of the best-loved female rock singers known for her on-stage charisma and a string of hits.

The US-born star sold more than 100 million records worldwide, and is one of the best-selling artistes of all time, earning 12 Grammy Awards.
