Three persons were killed while 33 others were injured in a fatal road accident on Gwachipe Bridge in the Lambatta, Gurara Local Government Area of Niger State.
The accident was said to have occurred around 12p.m, allegedly caused by a speeding trailer which lost control and crashed on the bridge.
The vehicle which was going to Lagos from Kano had 36 passengers on board including the driver.
The Niger State Sector Commander, Joel Dagwa, disclosed that the crash was a lone crash which involved a commercial trailer without number plate.

He said: “36 persons which include 25 male adults, seven female adults, two male children and two female children were involved in the accident. Out of which, three (male) lost their lives, 30 people were seriously injured in the accident. ”
Dagwa said the crash victims were taken to the Federal Medical Center in Gawu Babangida, while corpses have been taken to Sabon Wuse Mortuary.
The Suleja-Lambata outpost route of the Federal Road Safety Corps was said to have carried out the rescue exercise and moved the victims to hospital.
