While a draft of the MoU has been sent to the headquarters of the Nigerian Air Force, a stakeholder meeting is expected to hold in Bauchi between the two.

Air Officer Commanding Special Operations Command, AVM I.S. Kaita, explained that the understanding reached with the state government resulted from cooperation between the government, the Air Force and other stakeholders.

The Next Edition reports that the MoU underscores the deep relationship between the two parties to ensure the safe operation of flights in and out of the state.

It is also aimed at improving the general economic wellbeing of the citizens of Bauchi State leading to improved civil/military relations.

Also, among other things, it provides the legal framework necessary to enable the NAF to legally contribute to the security of the airport and also provides professional services necessary for the day-to-day operation of the airport.
