Sunny, hazy atmosphere for Sunday –NiMet

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted sunny and hazy weather conditions over the central states of the country on Sunday.

It said that there would be cloudy skies over Ilorin, Lokoja, Makurdi and Mambilla Plateau.

According to the agency’s Weather Outlook by its Central Forecast Office (CFO) on Saturday in Abuja, day and night temperatures in the area will be in range of 30 to 38 and 12 to 23 degrees Celsius.

It predicted that Southern states would experience cloudy to partly-cloudy morning with day and night temperatures ranging from 30 degrees Celsius to 35 degrees Celsius and 19 degrees Celsius to 25 degrees Celsius respectively.

It also predicted possibilities of isolated thunderstorms in few places over the coastal areas such as Lagos, Ijebu Ode, Warri, Yenagoa, Port Harcourt and Calabar in the afternoon and evening.

According to NiMet, Northern states will experience sunny and hazy conditions throughout the forecast period with day and night temperatures in the range of 33 to 36 and 12 to 22 degrees Celsius respectively.

“Northern part of the country will experience sunny and hazy conditions while cloudy to partly-cloudy situation are expected over the southern cities.

“There are chances of isolated thunderstorms in very few places around the coastal cities in the next 24 hours,’’ NiMet said. (NAN)
