Former Aviation minister, Femi Fani-Kayode said he is not surprised that the Federal Government has refused to release Mr. Omoyele Sowore days after the high court ordered his release.

Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu had last Friday ordered the Director of State Services, DSS, to release Sowore and his co-defendant Olawore Bakare after they met their bail conditions.

Reacting to the development on Wednesday on his Twitter handle, Fani-Kayode said: “Sad but not surprised that @YeleSowore has not been released by @MBuhari. What some of you helped rig into power in 2015/2019 was a monsterous system. They control EVERYTHING now. They persecuted others &you urged them on. Today not even their friends are safe from their tyranny.”

Sowore, convener of #RevolutionNow, was arrested on August 3 for planning to violently overthrow the government of President Muhammadu Buhari.

He along with Bakare are standing trial for treasonable felony and insulting Buhari.
