Six Die In Fresh Lagos-Ibadan Expressway Accident

Another car crash claimed six lives and injured one along Lagos-Ibadan expressway on Wednesday.

The incident occurred a few hours after a Toyota Hiace bus went up in flames, killing four persons and injuring 13 others at Fidiwo area of Ogunmakin along the same highway.

The Federal Road Safety Corp (FRSC) Spokesman, Florence Okpe, said the latest accident occurred at 5:55pm around Kara turning on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.

She said the crash involving a Toyota Previa marked LRG165AA claimed six persons while one female passenger sustained injury.

The FRSC spokesperson said 8 persons were involved in the crash. She noted that the crash was caused by speeding and loss of control.

Okpe disclosed the injured victim was taken to Redeem Hospital for treatment while the dead bodies were deposited at Idera Hospital morgue in Sagamu.

She quoted the Sector Commander, Ahmed Umar, who described the crash as an avoidable act, saying motorists should avoid speeding and dangerous driving.
