Seven policemen were shot dead by some unknown gunmen along Nnamdi Azikiwe Road at the Federal Capital Territory in Abuja Monday night.
The policemen, it was gathered, were on patrol duty when they were shot dead.
The gunmen, according to eyewitnesses, shot sporadically and left the scene after the attack.

The attack, it was reported, caused panic, leaving some people injured.
The bodies of the policemen have since been taken away in a police vehicle.
The Commissioner of Police, Sadiq Bello, confirmed the incident but did not give details.
