According to a statement by the Clerk of the National Assembly, the extension was to enable legislators to participate in their parties’ primaries and other activities.

Upon resumption, the Senate went into a closed door session.

Meanwhile the two chambers of the National Assembly shortly after resumption adjourned sitting in honour of the late Funke Adedoyin.

Adedoyin who represented Ekiti/Isin/Irepodun/Oke-ero Federal Constituency of Kwara State in the House of Representatives died on September 28.

Aged 56, she was said to have died of Cancer.

A former Minister of Youths Development, Adedoyin defected from the All Progressives Congress to the Peoples Democratic Party in July.

The House of Representatives is scheduled to resume on Thursday while the Senate will resume on Wednesday.
